For your air conditioner to operate at peak performance, the coils need to be clean.

As we’ve said in previous blogs, proper maintenance is vital to getting the most for your money out of your air conditioner. Airpliance understands the investment that you make to your home when you have us install a new system for you, and we want you to be satisfied with your purchase for years to come. One thing that helps to extend the life and improve the efficiency of your unit is having the coils cleaned regularly.

Why Clean Coils Matter

There are two coils in your air conditioning system – an evaporator coil and a condenser coil. They do most of the work of actually cooling the air that the system blows through your home. All that air blowing across them eventually causes some dirt and grime to build up though. When the coils are dirty, they are less effective at doing their job of cooling.

Cleaning the coils is important, but it’s also a fairly delicate procedure. That’s why we recommend having Airpliance do this maintenance instead of trying to do it yourself. How frequently the coils will need to be cleaned ultimately depends on factors like how often you change the air filter, how many people occupy the living space, and how much dust and debris is present in the air both inside and outside of your home.

We recommend calling Airpliance to do maintenance on your system every year. Springtime is a good time for this type of service, since you’ll be starting to need the air conditioner more once the cooler weather has passed. Talk to your service technician about how often the coils should be cleaned in your system – they will be able to give you information based on your home’s unique situation.

We Do More Than Clean Coils!

While we strongly recommend having Airpliance out at least once a year to perform regular maintenance on your AC system, we are always here for any problems you may have, too. Give us a call to schedule an appointment at (863) 969-9021.
